Coach Melle enters his first year as Head Football Coach at Bishop Hartley High School, bringing more than two decades of distinguished coaching experience. Most recently, he served with distinction as Bishop Hartley’s Defensive Coordinator.
Prior to that, he held a variety of coaching positions across Ohio high schools, as well as at Cathedral Prep High School, McDowell High School, and Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania, consistently demonstrating a commitment to excellence both on and off the field.
In addition to his coaching career, Coach Melle is the founder and former director of the Erie Area Coaches Clinic, a program that provided professional development and networking opportunities to over 300 coaches during its five-year run.
His leadership and impact were further recognized during his tenure as Head Coach at Villa Angela–St. Joseph High School in Cleveland, where he was named NCL White Division Coach of the Year.
