ABOUT HEALTH PROMOTION & SPORTS SCIENCE

In addition to the required course credits in Health & Wellness and Physical Education, Bishop Hartley students have the unique opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of topics and explore elective courses in Nutrition—for life, sport, and performance—Lifetime Fitness, and Strength-Conditioning Students also have the option to earn their Physical Education credit during the summer in June by engaging in a variety of on and off-campus activities. This is a great chance for students to interact with their peers and future classmates. To sign up for Summer Physical Education, students must be enrolled and it is first-come/firstserved. Students will receive information with their scheduling packet from the guidance office.

Offering several elective courses outside the traditional Health and
Physical Education, curriculum exposes students to subjects, topics, college majors, and possibly careers within those disciplines.

To enroll in the additional elective courses such as Nutrition, Lifetime Fitness, and Strength-Conditioning and Performance Nutrition, a student must be a sophomore to take Nutrition; only sophomores and seniors may sign up for Lifetime Fitness, and Strength and Conditioning.

RELATED CLUBS & ACTIVITIES
