Dear Family, Friends, and Visitors, On behalf of the Bishop Hartley High School community, I would like to welcome you to our school's website. I hope you will take the time to peruse our menus shown above -- About, Prospective Students, Current Students, Alumni, and our new online giving page, Invest in BHHS. Select from our many pages to learn more about our diocesan school that has served the eastside of Columbus for over 50 years. We strive to make our website interesting and inviting, an internet site that not only informs others about our school, but also keeps our current parents and students, as well as our supporters and alumni, visiting often for news and information. Some of my favorite pages to visit are any of our new e-newsletters, fully operational webpages that save resources and take full advantage of the internet by linking to outside sites; our One School: Five Pillars page, defining our five foundations of Faith, Preparation, Community, Service and Spirit; and our BHHS Fact Page, which gives a great overview of our school's offerings -- both academic and extracurricular. Our mission is to provide a quality Catholic education emphasizing Christ's teaching in all phases of the educational process and to empower each student to mature spiritually, morally, intellectually, physically and socially.
| Over the next few years, we will be working to restructure the menus to make them even more accessible and informative, particularly our Prospective Students menu for those who may be interested in becoming a student at Bishop Hartley. If you are a student, or the parent of one, who is searching for the right high school, we feel Bishop Hartley can offer you four foundational years that will provide forty productive and successful years to follow. I call this our "Four for 40" promise, and it's the kind of return on investment that every student deserves when he or she is willing to put effort into his or her work and school community. We are putting numbers to this promise by returning academic scholarship amounts to post-secondary educational institutions like this: the Class of '06 earned $6.4 million, the Class of '07, $5.5 million, and the Class of '08 earned an amazing $8.5 million in academic scholarships. Last year's graduating class, the Class of '09 with a total of 154 students, added an additional $7.7 million to our grand total. We can count on our current senior class, the Class of '10, to follow their predecessors. Enjoy our website and please feel free to contact me with any questions you have about our school. Go Hawks! Sincerely yours, Mr. Michael R. Winters Principal 614.237.5421 ext 212 mwinters@cdeducation.org |
