Coming to high school can be an exciting but also anxious experience.  At Bishop Hartley, making you feel like part of the family is part of our game plan to help you ease and transition into your new home.  Knowing the place you are going to spend a great part of your day learning, working and playing is a great way to ease the apprehension.

That's why we've created a
virtual tour of our campus for you to enjoy.  We will be adding scenes and information to this tour as time goes on, so please check us out often to see more of your high school.

Question
: What is the House System?

Answer:  The House System will be instituted next school year, 2010-11, and every student at Hartley will be a member of one of six Houses.  Those Houses are split into Mentor Groups of 20 students — 5 freshmen, 5 sophomores, 5 juniors, and 5 seniors.  This group is led by a faculty or staff member, and students will be with the same Mentor Group throughout all four years at Hartley.  Mentor Groups meet everyday, and once a month the whole House meets for a "House Day."  On these days, the entire House does an activity together, like a service project or kickball tournament.  The House System is a great way to get to know students in different grades, it offers many leadership opportunities, and really builds the family environment that is already present at Bishop Hartley.

Learn the ALMA MATER

See the hawk fly heights unbounded!
See the red & blue above!
Hartley voices join to honor
and to praise the school we love.

May she ever walk in glory,
valiant and brave and true.
As above each field of strife
waves proudly her red and blue.

Sing praise to Bishop Hartley High,
send cheers the heights to sever.
Proudly proclaim her honored name,
resound her glory ever.

Nearly 95% of Bishop Hartley students in grades 9-12 are involved in at least one type of extracurricular activity.  Getting involved in your school community — being out there — is how you meet new people, have new experiences, learn outside of the classroom, and build school spirit.
From Model United Nations to drama, athletics to prayer group, we've got something that will appeal to you.

Have you been led to believe that SOCIAL STUDIES & SCIENCE are separate subjects?

You need to go cross-curricular then & see how they can co-exist peacefully.  It's a beautiful thing!   Mr. Bob Grove, BHHS Freshman Comprehensive Science Teacher, and Mr. Curt Hansen, BHHS Senior Government Teacher,  happily take you on a tour of some American landmarks and detail their geology and history.
